How the prices are worked out
- TV assignments: ESPN schedule data for all 68 teams (816 team-games; 325 with no TV assignment as of Oct 12, down from 382 on Oct 5 and 394 on Oct 1) [MD25]; ASU cross-checked against the official schedule [MD26].
- TBD games are priced worst case: you must be able to watch every network in the host conference TV pool (SEC: ESPN family; ACC: ESPN family + CW; Big 12: ABC/ESPN family + FOX/FS1 + TNT; Big Ten: FOX/FS1/BTN + CBS + NBC/Peacock; ND home: NBC/Peacock). Networks normally announce picks 6-12 days ahead, so in practice fans can often buy less.
- A free OTA antenna is assumed for ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC/CW; reception varies and the antenna price was not researched. A "no antenna" variant is in watch_guide.json.
- Season = 5 monthly billing periods (Aug 29-Jan 28; covers the CFP title game Jan 25). "Month-by-month" assumes you subscribe and cancel each period with perfect timing. "Single package" means one set of subscriptions kept all 5 months.
- Sling Orange day passes ($4.99; $5.99 with Sports Extra) [MD16] [MD42] covered single-date ESPN/ESPN2/TNT (and with Sports Extra, ESPNU/SECN/ACCN/SECN+/ACCNX) games, but Sling discontinued all Passes on Oct 2, 2026 [MD46] [MD15]. They are used only for games on or before Oct 1 in the full-season look-back; every plan from Oct 12 on uses monthly subscriptions only, so "with day passes" and "no passes" totals are now the same going forward.
- Postseason worst case = conference title game + all CFP networks (ABC/ESPN + TNT) + ESPN-family bowls [MD22] [MD24].
