“My gut tells me that it devalues the regular season, which is what everybody is locked into right now. Everybody's so excited about these upsets, like the BYU-UCF game. Or last week, it was BYU-Notre Dame. And Texas knocking off Ole Miss. Do those mean as much if we're going to 24?”

“Hopefully we'll get some legislation passed after midterms, but we can't count on the federal government to fix our problems in college athletics. I think that's one of the things that unfortunately we've kind of pointed that way. And the reality is we've gotta accept responsibility for some of the mistakes that have been made, and we've got to accept accountability for the future of the game.”
